So I hike through your caverns pathless and unafraid
You are the siren boy with a head like waves
Thrashing about and yet you still allow
My meek little figure to lap at your ear
And slowly crawl in like a curious why

Thunderheads roar in your skies, calling me home
I venture through your woods of crystal and smoke
To find you singing me forward on storm etched stones

I spend years at the beach fumbling with rope, to build a steady craft
That will reach your throne
I bow at your feet, but you wear terror like a crown
My hands lick up your thighs and into your mind
As I crash

fauxpillarous vines creep pines
lost in cedar limbs
climb briar ladders
to reach godstatus
elevate
airplanes make loud noises in the sky
crackles of footsteps like cackling masks
smashed underfoot
bone rattle
wheezing clear god
thick brush strokes
my grey labyrinth lungs

bedIt's a stabbing sight
Letting in the morning with a crack of the shades
And you forget you could page-turn horizons
Waft through free territory
Where acres are just beds
Made of fresh land

Wrinkles in the river
Tell remembered times
About old languages that could make you cry
About soft beds that carve away canyons
A speaking voice lifted from the earth
Begging you to remember

Blessed art thou
You bleed through the cracks in my walls
Eyes, pores in every centimeter of wallpaper
Watching me sleep, watching my night-mare
The horse running from the fire-like river
Pouring down the mountain to the plains below

Justifications and Salted Smiles"I don't think I'm holding on any longer

there's a magical land at the bottom of the ocean
where waterproof lungs let you be

pearlescentyou are as pearlescent as a paua shell
soft, pretty, glimmer-changing.

like a fish, a silver-quick fish
darting, shifting, every moment you are new.

sliding joyously and gleamingly over you and

around you, kissing you with fragments of light
here, there, gone.

Acceptance?The silence roars at 4:30 on a Saturday morning
To a childless father
A wifeless husband
A friendless friend
Its too hot, open a window and let the snow in
Read the words from the dead child's hand
(Winter fences at the edge of the world)

Think, think, think of a way to fill the empty day
To make it count
To respect memories
To shout to the world
These were good people, they were loved fiercely
Why does the world keep turning, whats left?
(Their names float from the sky and settle)

Sun, ignite the world, turn the snow into ashes
Let us rest our dreams
Mourn our loss
Accept our fate
Remember every softly-spoken "I love you"
